Mintage stated as 78,916,556.
Obverse: Incuse stamp 定 (= Jo) over 4 kanji characters in a rectangle surrounded by 20 sakuras (cherry blossoms). Lettering: 定 – Guaranteed, 常銀 – Ginza (Silver Mint), and 是座 – Joze (Mint Official).
Reverse: 3 vertical kanji characters in a rectangle surrounded by 20 sakuras (cherry blossoms). Lettering: 一分銀 – 1 Bu Silver. Note that one cherry blossom on each side is inverted, but not in the same place.
